The Objectives

The registered memorandum of Centre for Studies on Science states the objectives as follows:

To promote, undertake and sponsor the study of science in community perspective with the aim of developing a cotemporary science which is conjunial to a healthy and harmonious growth of man, its intellect and Nature.

Here such a growth of science is being envisaged in which man's philosophical and intellectual health is in harmony with the growth and development in the domain of nature. This harmonious growth is possible only when S&T activity of the community involved is based on the philosophy and assumptions which mould its outlook and shape its relation with nature. The traditional societies and the communities upholding the traditional outlook are the true representatives of the term community being referred to here. Obviously it also refers to religions based societies.
